This week we started our first exam period of the year, and the University takes on a very distinctive feel.
Many places around the Department are much quieter than usual, like the lecture theatres (apart from the odd revision class), but if you look in the libraries or the Diamond you’ll find they are hotbeds of revision!
Of course, once the exams are done and the papers are in then we have our share of the work – the marking. I’m expecting 260 papers for one of my first year courses which the civil engineers take. That’s going to take a few pens to get through.
After the exams are over in a few weeks we’ll begin the second semester, which finishes with its own exam period at the end of the year (when it all starts again).
Good luck to everyone sitting an exam this January!
